Amputee runner Jacky Hunt-Broersma is running 100 marathons in 100 days

Ultra marathon runner, mother of two & cancer survivor Jacky Hunt-Broersma broke the unofficial women's world record on Thursday, running 102 marathons in 102 days. The 46-year-old completed her challenge on Saturday, running her 104th marathon. At age 26, Hunt-Broersma lost her leg to cancer shortly after her diagnosis. Inspired by her runner husband, she ran her first half-marathon in 2016: 

"The first time I ran it gave me a sense of freedom — it had given me something I didn't think possible."

"inspire others to get out of their comfort zones and try something new," 

and has raised over $88K for a nonprofit that provides amputees with free running prosthetics.
