Migrant Arrivals at Mexican border increased in February, with 55% quickly expelled

Fresh data indicates another history-making year at the southwest border as a new storyline develops — an increasing number of Russians and Ukrainians attempting to enter the U.S.

Every month we learn the number of people law enforcement encountered in the previous month at the U.S. southwest border —

 Feb. 2022 had the highest # of encounters yet in modern record for that month.

 were encountered along the U.S. southern border, a 

family unit individuals (16%); unaccompanied children (7% — and a 37% increase from Jan.); single adults (76%).

"Encounters" = umbrella term. Could include being arrested, expelled, or allowed to stay.

As the historic pace of encounters continues along the U.S. southwest border, the total number of people encountered in CBP's fiscal year 2022 (Oct. 2021 - Sept. 2022) has already reached over

Meanwhile, the CDC (which approved COVID pandemic-era use of Title 42 in 2020) is set to complete a 60-day review on
