On this day in 1933, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was born in Brooklyn, NY. Ginsburg was the first Jewish woman and second woman ever to serve on the Supreme Court, where her service spanned 27 years. Ginsberg passed away while still a justice in late 2020, and became the first woman to lie in state in the U.S. Capitol. We've seen in this news cycle how important the Supreme Court is to daily life in America — from important rulings on COVID-19 vaccine mandates, to an expected ruling on current abortion law this year.
