What Happened: Apparently the toddler slipped through the fence (just over 5 inches) between the iron posts. He was quickly "apprehended" by Secret Service, who momentarily "restricted" White House access until reuniting toddler with his parents.

Context: The White House fence use to be just over 6 feet tall until it doubled in height during a $64 million construction project started in 2019. Parts of the fence are still NOT complete. MORE HERE

Fun Fact: What color was the first White House fence? Possibly GREEN. "The first perimeter fence was a wood rail fence completed during Thomas Jefferson’s presidency (1801-1809). The wooden fence was replaced by a stone wall and later an iron fence. Paint analysis indicated that the earliest color of the north iron fencing may have been a deep forest green."
