Big Picture: A 17-year-old high school student is wanted for attempted homicide after shooting two administrators at East High School in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday morning. The shooting occurred as the student was being searched for weapons. He was being searched because he is on a "safety plan" that Denver Public School Superintendent Dr. Alex Marrero said is "a result of previous behavior."
Why It Matters: The student fled the scene after the incident and is still at large as of Wednesday afternoon. Denver Police Chief, Ron Thomas, said, "We don't have any sense of where he is." Investigators are continuing to search for him.
The Victims: The two male administrators were taken to the hospital. As of Wednesday afternoon, one of them received surgery for life-threatening injuries and was in serious condition; the other administrator was also in serious condition. No students were harmed.
