  • Scottie Scheffler closed the tournament with a 1-under par 71 and 10-under in the tournament for a three-shot victory. This was Scheffler's fourth tournament victory in the last two months.
  • Scheffler is one of only two players to ever win a major in their debut at No. 1 player in the world. Scheffler and Ian Woosnam (who accomplished it in 1991) both won the Masters in their debut year.
  • Something to consider: Friday marked ESPN's most-watched day of golf ever. Over 5 million people watched the first two days of coverage, which is over 1.2 million people more than last year. Much of the viewership is accredited to Tiger Woods' return to the course (and competitive golf) after a 14-month break due injuries sustained in a car accident.

Why It Matters: The Masters is one of four major professional championships in men's golf. It is unique because the winner receives a standing invitiation to return and compete in the tournament for the rest of his life.
