Why It Matters: Only one man will sit trial; he's the single survivor of the group of 20 attackers, and has refused to speak to investigators. The same ISIS cell later executed an attack in Brussels, killing more than 30 people.
Interesting Note: More than a thousand people and 300 lawyers will be present in the building that will house the courtroom(s). The modern courtroom was constructed within the storied 13th-century Palais de Justice in Paris, where Marie Antoinette and Emile Zola, among others, faced trial.
