- The lawyer for Britney Spears, Mathew Rosengart, called the filing a "victory" and "vindication" for his client. He also said this in response: “It appears that Mr. Spears believes he can try to avoid accountability and justice, including sitting for a sworn deposition and answering other discovery under oath, but as we assess his filing (which was inappropriately sent to the media before it was served on counsel) we will also continue to explore all options.”
Why This Matters: For 13 years, Jamie Spears has held some role supervising or controlling aspects of his daughter's life. His most recent role put him in a position to take part in directing/approving her financial matters.
